Support AHEEN

Scholarship Funder Sponsor a student

Educate a refugee today, empower a refugee community to thrive tomorrow. No single donor can solve a refugee crisis, but together we can graduate a generation that uplifts their entire community. Investing in a refugee’s tertiary education does more than change one life; it rebuilds an entire region.

AHEEN’s multi-donor scholarship fund allows you to play a key role in strengthening refugee communities with even a small contribution. We combine the contributions to create the support needed to see displaced students through to graduation.

Together we can graduate a generation that uplifts their entire community.

Network Strengthener Support the network

Strong refugee communities emerge only when viable educational pathways build a sustainable economy.

AHEEN came together as an African network of academic institutions, Refugee-led Organizations (RLOs), and supporting partners who can forge these pathways that help refugee communities thrive.

To clear the path, the network takes responsibility for:

  • safeguarding and data protection
  • distribution of funds
  • monitoring and evaluation
  • program implementation
  • facility management
  • training (budgetary, context-training for lecturers)
  • coordination of a multi-country network
  • research
  • facilitation of ideas-sharing across the network
  • grant management
  • field support through RLOs
  • labor market transition evaluation
  • athletics consulting
  • diploma coordination
  • transition to tertiary

This is what it takes to connect national universities, provide resilient digital learning, and tailor degrees to regional economic demands.

Your support can play a key role in strengthening and scaling the AHEEN model that helps refugee communities thrive.

Facility Provider Sponsor products and services

Building a sustainable economy in a refugee camp is hard. One reason is that accessing and completing education isn’t straight-forward either. Part of AHEEN’s creating pathways to employment is clearing the brush along the way. Refugees need more than a tablet to achieve education. The obstacles are many, and often unique to the crisis context—they’re physical, mental, emotional and family needs that need to be met along the way.

Becoming part of our African solution as a Facility Provider includes any service or physical item that supports a refugee’s education journey through AHEEN.

Services could include:

  • IT
  • legal
  • accounting
  • sports coaching
  • nutrition expertise
  • teaching
  • consulting
  • employer-supported volunteering

Physical could include:

  • digital learning hub
  • WI-FI connection
  • mobile data
  • laptops
  • tablets
  • physical writing materials
  • athletics track
  • shoes and gear

  • a roof
  • transport fare
  • family support
  • specific support for women (such as childcare)
  • people with disabilities  (such as screen-reading software for the visually impaired)

You can become part of this African solution.
