Career opportunities

Mental health social workers play important roles in various settings. They provide therapy, counselling, emotional support, and case management. Additionally, they respond to crises, assist students, support addiction recovery, influence policies, and conduct research to improve mental health services in hospitals, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations.

In Somalia, where a large number of the population is displaced due to conflict, climate change, and economic instability, mental health social workers provide trauma-informed counselling, crisis intervention, and psychosocial rehabilitation.
