Founding & Authorization:
City University of Mogadishu is a premier institution of higher learning in Mogadishu, Somalia. Established in 2012, City University of Mogadishu (CU) is a Not-For-Profit foundation university that is pioneering quality instruction, research, and service to society. City University is authorized and accredited as a degree granting institution by the Somali Federal Government Ministry of Education Directorate of Higher Education and Culture.

 Vision:
To become the preeminent leader in instruction, research, and service of society in Somalia and the region, and will pursue international recognition through excellence and rigorous standards.

Mission:
To educate morally upright, capable leaders equipped with relevant knowledge and transferable high skills to achieve their professional goals and offer leadership and service to their society and nation.

Geographical Presence:
With a commitment to academic excellence, City University of Mogadishu students study and serve their community on five campuses strategically located in and around Mogadishu including one on the ocean front focused on marine sciences and a large agriculture focused campus with productive greenhouses, poultry and livestock operations.

Operating Budget:
The CU operating budget for the past year was about a million USD ($968K).

 Educational Programs, Staffing & Technical Expertise:
CU Provides technical vocational programs as well as undergraduate and graduate degree programs to our students. Our experienced teaching staff with MA/MS and PhD degrees come from the US, UK, Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Uganda, and Somalia.  The Colleges of Engineering & Computing, Agriculture & Natural Resources, Humanities & Social Sciences, Business & Administrative Sciences and Health & Human Services offer a rich variety of certificate, diploma, undergraduate and graduate degree programs for our students to choose from. Agriculture, animal science, fisheries, law, social work, political science, business administration, engineering, information technology and health are areas CU can support in the Somali context.
